WayMakr is an information directory. We do not provide emergency response, shelter, housing, food, medical care, mental-health care, legal representation, or benefits. We cannot reserve, guarantee, or arrange any service listed on the Site, and we cannot intervene in any individual situation.

Nothing on this Site is legal, medical, mental-health, financial, tax, or other professional advice, and using the Site does not create an attorney–client, doctor–patient, counselor–client, or any other professional relationship with WayMakr or its operator. Program rules, court procedures, and benefit requirements are complex and fact-specific. For advice about your own situation, consult a qualified professional or the agency or organization that administers the program.

Listings on the Site are drawn from official and publicly published sources — including New York City and New York State agencies, the U.S. government, and the organizations listed — and are reproduced for informational purposes. Listings remain the responsibility of their source. Although we review and re-check listings on a recurring basis and show a "checked" or "synced" date on records where available:

• We do not guarantee that any listing is complete, current, or error-free. Programs open, close, move, change hours, exhaust funding, and change eligibility rules without notice to us.
• We do not guarantee that any provider has capacity, appointments, beds, food, funds, or services available when you contact them.
• Eligibility decisions are made solely by the administering agency or organization under its own rules. Inclusion of a program on the Site is not a determination — by us or anyone — that you or any other person is eligible for it.

Before traveling to a location or relying on a listing, confirm the details directly with the provider (for example, by phone). If a listing's checked date is old, treat the information with particular caution.

If you find an error, please tell us through the contact method published on the Site. We review correction reports and update or remove listings as appropriate, but we are not obligated to make any particular change, and a report does not create any duty to any individual.

The fastest way to flag a problem is the “Report an error” link on any program listing or program detail page — it sends the listing reference straight to our review queue. Reports are reviewed privately and are never shown on the Site.

WayMakr uses automated tools, including artificial-intelligence features provided through our technology platforms, to help understand what you are looking for and to organize and present listings. These tools work only with the information drawn from the sources described in Section 3: listings shown on the Site always come from those published sources, and our automated tools do not create, invent, or alter program names, providers, addresses, phone numbers, hours, or eligibility rules.

Automated tools can misinterpret a request. If the results do not match what you need, browse the Site's categories, try different words, or contact a provider or hotline directly. Output produced with the help of automated tools is provided for convenience only, does not constitute advice of any kind (see Section 2), and remains subject to the verification guidance in Section 3. Automated tools never make eligibility decisions; those are made solely by the administering agency or organization (see Section 3).

A listing is not an endorsement, recommendation, sponsorship, or guarantee of any organization, program, provider, or place of worship, and no listed organization endorses WayMakr unless expressly stated. Listing religious organizations (including churches) reflects publicly published service information only; WayMakr does not endorse any religion or denomination. WayMakr is an independent project. It is not created, operated, sponsored, or endorsed by the City of New York, the State of New York, the U.S. government, or any agency or listed organization, and nothing on the Site should be read to suggest otherwise. Government and organizational names and marks belong to their owners.

The Site includes safety-oriented features and information, such as hotline-first presentation for domestic-violence resources and a quick-exit control. These features have limits:

• A quick exit leaves this Site but does not erase your browser history, device activity, or any monitoring that may exist on your device or network.
• Safety information on the Site is general information, not a personalized safety plan. For individualized help, contact the HOPE Hotline (1-800-621-4673) or the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233).
• We deliberately do not publish the street addresses of confidential locations, such as domestic-violence shelters and certain residential programs. Do not attempt to obtain such addresses through the Site.

You agree to use the Site only for lawful, personal, informational purposes, and not to:

• Misrepresent information obtained from the Site, or present a listing as a guarantee of services or eligibility;
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the Site's compiled listings in a manner that burdens the Site's operation, circumvents technical measures, or violates the terms of the underlying sources (the underlying public data remains available from its official sources);
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its accounts, or its systems, or to interfere with its security or operation;
• Submit false correction reports or other information you know to be false;
• Use the Site to harass, threaten, or endanger any person or organization.

If you create an account or save resources ("My Plan" and similar features), you are responsible for the accuracy of information you save, for keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Saved information is a personal planning aid only; saving a resource does not register you for, enroll you in, or reserve that resource.

Our collection and use of information is described in the Site's Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Among other things: browsing for help does not require an account; we do not sell personal information; and you may delete your account and saved resources through the controls provided on the Site. Searches and messages you enter may be processed by automated tools, including third-party artificial-intelligence services, solely to operate the Site; we do not sell such information and do not use it to train third-party models. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards consistent with the New York SHIELD Act to personal information we maintain, but no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you voluntarily provide an email address or phone number to receive updates or messages from WayMakr (including any text-message service we may offer), you consent to receive those communications at the address or number provided. Message and data rates may apply to text messages. You may opt out at any time — for texts, reply STOP; for email, use the unsubscribe link or contact us. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of using the Site's listings.

The Site's design, text (other than source data), compilation, and original content are the property of WayMakr or its operator and are protected by applicable law. Program and provider data belongs to its respective sources and is used in accordance with the sources' published terms (including the NYC Open Data terms). You may view, print, and share individual listings and pages for personal, non-commercial purposes — for example, giving a listing to someone who needs it. The WayMakr name and logo are marks of the operator; you may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without prior written permission.

The Site links to and relies on third-party websites, hotlines, maps, and services. We do not control them, are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY LISTING IS ACCURATE OR ANY SERVICE AVAILABLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY NEW YORK LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WAYMAKR, ITS OPERATOR, OR ANY CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR PERSONAL OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR ANY LISTING — INCLUDING RELIANCE ON ANY LISTING'S ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, OR ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in that case, the limitations apply to the maximum extent allowed. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WayMakr and its operator from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms. This section does not apply to claims arising from our own conduct.

We aim for the Site to be usable by everyone, including people using assistive technology, and we work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us and we will work to provide the information in an accessible alternative format.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site or any listing at any time without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time; the updated version will be posted on the Site with a new effective date, and your continued use of the Site after posting constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be identified on this page.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and WayMakr concerning the Site.
