What this program is

A monthly discount on your Con Edison energy bill if you receive certain government benefits or your household income falls below the area median for New York City and Westchester.

Who can get it

Con Edison states:

  • You'll be enrolled in the EAP automatically if an agency notifies Con Edison that you receive: Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP); Direct Vendor or Utility Guarantee; Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF); Safety Net Assistance (SNA).
  • You qualify but will need to enroll directly if you receive: Medicaid; Federal Public Housing Assistance; Veterans Disability or Survivors Pension; Lifeline Telephone Service Program; Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
  • Enhanced Energy Affordability Program (EEAP): you may be eligible if you are a residential customer, receive electric and/or gas service from Con Edison, are not already enrolled in the EAP or a qualifying government assistance program, and earn below the household area median income (AMI) thresholds Con Edison publishes.
